Welcome
The Lowell Firefighters Credit Union: Yesterday and Today
The Lowell Firefighters Credit Union, of Lowell Massachusetts, was originally chartered as the 'Lowell Firemen's Club Credit Union' on December 8, 1936, with Edmond A. Gendreau as Treasurer. In its original location at Engine 11/Ladder 1 on Lawrence Street, the credit union was established to serve Lowell firefighters, pensioners, and their immediate families. Since 1959, the organization has been named the 'Lowell Firefighters Credit Union'.
In 1971 the by-laws of the credit union were changed to expand services to contiguous town's fire departments and their families. Currently the credit union membership includes personnel from the fire departments of Lowell, Chelmsford, Westford, and Dracut Massachusetts.
Today, the credit union is multipurpose, with checking debit cards, direct deposit, and online banking. In addition, we offer new and used car loans, personal, secured, and home equity loans. We have Certificates of Deposit to go along with our savings program.
